Every Junglegold chocolate bar tells a story, and our Sea Salt & Cacao Nibs bar is inspired by one of Bali’s most revered mythical guardians: Naga Basuki.

More than just an eye-catching design, the artwork celebrates Bali’s deep connection to the sea, nature, and the traditions that continue to shape the island’s identity.

Naga Basuki: Guardian of Balance

In Balinese Hindu tradition, Naga Basuki is known as the guardian of balance and harmony. The sacred serpent is believed to protect the world by maintaining equilibrium between nature’s elements, particularly the land and the sea.

Naga Basuki is often depicted in temple carvings, traditional paintings, and ceremonial art throughout Bali. With its long, flowing body and intricate scales, the mythical dragon has become one of the island’s most recognizable cultural symbols, representing protection, prosperity, and the continuous cycle of life.

Sea salt is born from the ocean, and Bali’s coastline has sustained communities for generations. The vivid blue waves surrounding the dragon on our packaging reflect the island’s waters, while Naga Basuki gracefully weaves through them as a timeless guardian of the sea.

Just as the ocean brings harmony to the island, a touch of sea salt brings harmony to the chocolate—enhancing the richness of dark cacao while complementing the satisfying crunch of roasted cacao nibs.
